Friendly Center teams up with Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Orange for Independence from Hunger cause

Orange, Calif. — June 10, 2026 Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Orange is proud to announce the return of its annual Independence from Hunger® (IFH) Campaign, running from June 24 through July 31, 2026. This year, the store is partnering with Friendly Center and Orange Blossoms, an Auxiliary of the Assistance League of Orange, to help address food insecurity and provide critical support to local families in need.

The Independence from Hunger Campaign is Grocery Outlet’s signature community giving initiative, designed to ensure that every dollar donated remains within the local community. Through this partnership, 100 percent of funds raised will be used to purchase food and essential items that will be distributed directly to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout Orange County.

Customers can participate by making a donation of any amount during checkout at Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Orange. As a token of appreciation, customers who donate $5 or more will automatically receive a $5 coupon toward a future purchase.

“We are incredibly grateful for the continued partnership and generosity of Orange Grocery Outlet, proudly owned and operated by community servant leaders Mike and Melanie McCormick,” said Dr. Kenia Cueto, President and CEO of Friendly Center.

“From supporting families during recent SNAP disruptions to providing ongoing donations and sponsoring this annual fundraiser, they have consistently stepped up when our community needs them most. Thank you, Mike and Melanie, and thank you to your customers for helping Friendly Center provide stability, opportunity, and hope to children and families across Orange County. Thank you for being our FRIENDS!”

With food insecurity continuing to affect many families across the region, the campaign serves as an opportunity for community members to come together and support those facing difficult circumstances. Donations collected throughout the campaign will help ensure local families have access to the food and resources they need to thrive.

“Community support is at the heart of the Independence from Hunger Campaign,” said store representatives. “Every contribution helps provide nutritious food and essential resources to neighbors who may be struggling, and together we can make a meaningful impact right here in Orange.”

Members of the community are encouraged to visit Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in 1803 E. Chapman Ave., Orange during the month-long initiative and participate by making a donation at checkout. More information available at location.
