Diaper Distribution Program, One Year Later

Diaper Distribution Program, One Year Later

1 in 3 US families struggle to afford enough diapers needed to keep their child clean and dry, with a recent study indicating that ‘diaper work’ (the physical, emotional, and cognitive labor involved in managing diaper need) is one of the most significant stressors among low-income parents with young children.

To help local families meet such an important basic need, Friendly Center launched its Diaper Distribution Program in August 2020. Through these distributions, families receive fifty diapers per child each month as well as a variety of grocery items and other household essentials. To date, over 60,000 diapers have been distributed to low-income families through the program.

These distributions take place once a month on Friday mornings, and the program is in need to volunteers! To sign up or learn more, complete our volunteer registration form here.
